We’ll work one-on-one through every phase, from understanding your brand and business needs to precise space planning, CAD documentation, and finishes selection. Sonia Zuvela - Interior Designer
I’ve been inspired by art and architecture for as long as I can remember, daydreaming from a young age of becoming a designer…
… and still inspired today by the creative opportunities that lie ahead.
That passion evolved into a 20+ year career in commercial interior design, and what has remained constant throughout is my genuine love for design and enthusiasm for every project.
To me, quality design means thoroughly considering every aspect of your project; unlocking its full potential and ensuring no design opportunity is wasted. It’s a careful balance of honouring a project’s vision whilst always remaining committed to delivering on time, on brief, and within budget.
I excel as a creative thinker with a meticulous, methodical approach. While achieving great outcomes is serious business, the process doesn’t need to be stressful. Even under tight deadlines, complexities are met with swift solutions, so you can make decisions with confidence and remain focused on your business.
I am passionate about design, and life in general, and this shows not only in my attitude to each project, but in every detail of my designs.
EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor of Built Environment (Interior Design) and Graduate Diploma of Interior Design, Queensland University of Technology (QUT) graduating with distinction and honours society recognition.
- Six years of experience in senior interior design and management roles within two of Australia's leading commercial furniture retailers and manufacturers. Understanding the most technical aspects of design and manufacture inspired the confidence and experience to launch SV Dezign in 2008.
- Long-term industry partnerships with high-profile businesses ranging from international vehicle manufacturers, national integrated resorts and casinos, commercial builders, education institutes, and national disability support services organizations.

STEP 1 - THE DESIGN BRIEF
- INITIAL CONSULTATION – We discuss your business’s functional needs, aspirational goals, site parameters, and overall vision to build a solid foundation for your project.
- COLLABORATIVE DESIGN BRIEF – Together we create a clear, written design brief that ensures we’re aligned from the start, setting the stage for a smooth process.
- SITE SURVEY – A thorough survey is conducted, capturing accurate measurements and assessing all site conditions from the outset.
- ACCURATE CAD DRAWINGS – The foundation of every successful design, informing accurate decision-making and ensuring precision from concept to completion.
STEP 2 - CONCEPT DESIGN
SCHEMATIC DESIGN – Creation of a 2D Concept Design Plan that maximizes space, meets the design brief, and complies with all relevant codes and standards.
CONCEPT BOARDS – Presentation of proposed colours, furniture, finishes, textures, and other key design elements to clearly convey the overall vision and style.
CLIENT COLLABORATION – We work closely throughout this phase, refining the design and options to ensure you’re fully satisfied before moving forward.
STEP 3 - DOCUMENTATION
- TECHNICAL DRAWINGS – Preparation of comprehensive drawings and specifications required for tendering, approvals, and construction.
- EXTENT OF DOCUMENTATION – Documentation may range from a single Furniture Plan or Custom Joinery Detail to a full set of Architectural Plans and Specifications.
STEP 4 - PROJECT SUPPORT
- DESIGN SUPPORT – Although the design is complete, I remain actively involved through tendering, approvals, and construction.
- COORDINATION – I’m available to answer questions, review drawings and specs, resolve issues, and coordinate with your builder, trades, and consultants as needed.
- SITE VISITS – This is the exciting stage where your vision comes to life, and I’m just as thrilled to see it all come together as you are.
- HANDOVER – Finally, all that’s left is to enjoy your new space!
